Wedding Guide
Let's personalize your wedding journey! Remember, not every tip fits every couple. Chat it out with your partner to pick what feels right for both of you. And hey, if you need a friendly guide through all this, I'm just a call away! 📞

First and foremost, dress comfortably, and for the weather and environment. This includes selecting the right shoes for aesthetic appeal and practicality. That way, you’ll feel (and look) more natural, allowing you to focus on your loved one.
Coordinate complementary outfits - No, you don’t need matching couples T-Shirts, but we do recommend dressing in the same “category” or style as your partner.
Do's:
Neutral base colours such as beige, browns, tans, and greys are timeless and avoid being distracting.
Have some fun with colour: Matching highlighting tones or complementary contrasting tones?
Consider complementing/contrasting with the location (greens of the grass, or the blues of the water & sky)
Dont's:
Avoid bright Neon colors & pitch blacks if possible – softer colors such as greys and beiges tend to capture a romantic setting better.
Avoid distracting corporate brands/logos or large prints and patterns (unless it helps tell your story)
Accessories & Props
Go for some subtle things that accentuate your personality. Hats, sunglasses, socks, and jackets are great ways to jazz up your accessory game. Pets, instrument, skateboard, bike, or even a donut can be a nice addition to tell a story about your life.

What makes fantasic get ready photos:
A clutter-free space is both aesthetically pleasing and allows us to set up additional lights if needed.
Good natural light is everything! Make sure there is a lot of natural light in the rooms where you will be getting ready (window light).
I recommend writing a short love note for each other to read during the preparation portion of the day. They really help ease your nerves and create incredibly emotional images and wedding films
Have your bridal details or groom's details together, this will make the detail shots more efficient. See examples in the Bridal/Groom details below
-
Bridal Details: Dress, rings, jewelry, shoes, bouquet, accessories, etc).
Other details to consider: Invitation Suite (save the date, wedding invite), Perfume, and lose florals especially flower heads from your florist, for styling purposes.
Allow more time to get ready, it’s most common to have the bridal Party and mother dressed and ready before the bride so that they can help assist the Bride into her dress.
-
Groom Details: Grooms tux, cuff links, shoes.
Other details to consider: Alcohol, glasses
It’s most common to have the groomsman and father of the groom photographed while the groom is adjusting his tie and putting his cuff links on. Please inform the Grooms Wedding party and father that they will need to be ready and at the Grooms suite by the above time.

A wedding with no electricity is not only a good chance for your guests to put their gadgets away and pay attention to the event, but it also makes it easier for me to take clear images of you and the rest of the ceremony.
You can let the celebrant know about the situation so they can remind the attendees before the ceremony begins. And tell them not to worry - I’m on the job of capturing some great images. :)

Hold the kiss for a few moments so it’s captured on photo/video (plus it’s way more romantic). Stop and kiss halfway down the aisle.
Ask your officiant to step away when they announce you as husband and wife (Before the kiss happens), so your photos and videos are just you two.
Have you officiant signal everyone to stand when you process out.

One thing that’s absolutely necessary for this part of the day is that everyone knows it’s happening, everyone’s onboard, and there’s someone (Wedding Planner? Sibling? best friend?) who knows who everyone is and can help me heard everyone in the right direction at the right time.
Before the wedding, let’s make a list of every configuration we’ll need to photograph so we can fly through these and get everyone back to celebrating as quickly as possible.

Timing: While it depends on your wedding schedule, we recommend a quick videoshoot during the “golden hour” the brief 45 minutes after sunrise and before sunset.
Why? To capture flattering facial features and a romantic atmosphere, a soft “diffused” lighting is essential. This is paired with the warm glow to give a dreamy aesthetic to photos/footage, hence the term “golden hour”.

The more I am aware of the venue's layout and the type of lighting that will be employed, the better equipped I will be to make sure that everything works out for stunning photos. Please feel free to send me some images to show the venue's layout, your seating area, etc. A few basic phone pics is all I need :)
Also, most people dislike having their pictures taken when they are eating, so now is a good opportunity for me to grab a quick bite too, and be well-prepared for the rest of the night!
