Starting a new business is scary! The founders of Kelowna Karting poured their heart and soul into building something great, but they knew you only get ONE chance at a first impression.
“How could we capture the thrill of racing, and convey that feeling through the screen?” We wondered.
We accomplished this by designing a look that invokes a dream/movie-like vibe, that same feeling when you step into a race kart for the first time like, making the audience feel like they’re the main character.
Forget realism, bring out the smoke machine, split-toned lights, lens flares, and motion blur!

We shot the interview component in the same way, dramatic, exciting, with karts zipping around in the background (we used lav mic’s to keep the audio clear).
Fun Fact: Andy almost got hit by the Go-Karts to get those closeup shots. Totally worth it.

Kasai’s owners wanted THE BEST high-end restaurant photography that reflected their premium quality to help them sell more drinks and appetizers, and that’s exactly what we did!
I mean, you can’t sell at $205/person dinner with cheap photos!
We (Andy, Louisa, and Michael) shot with the menu design in mind, and Louisa redesigned their whole menu! check our work in action the next time you visit our friends at Kasai, or here:
We shot all food and drink on-location, setting up a mini-studio in the corner of the restaurant, complete with studio lights, and black backdrops, minimizing interruption to the operations, while keeping the food looking fresh!
